Oxfam sends message of support and solidarity to the family of Guatemalan human rights defender Rubén Herrera

Oxfam expresses its profound sadness and condolences to Cecilia Mérida and the communities of Huehuetenango in Guatemala for the death of Rubén Herrera, a community leader, human rights defender, activist, and friend of many. Oxfam has had the honor of working in solidarity with Rubén and Cecilia. Our deepest sympathy, love, and solidarity goes to Cecilia, and to Rubén’s family and the Departmental Assembly of Huehuetenango.
