On Wednesday 30 April, the Under-Secretary-General and Emergency Relief Coordinator Valerie Amos, will address the UN Security Council on Syria.

As the press conference with UN Special Envoy for Syria, Lakhdar Brahimi wrapped up, Mr. Brahimi announced that both sides will meet tomorrow (Saturday, 25 January) in the same room.

Yemen is on a slow downward road to starvation and the growing number of people going hungry shows its descent is gathering pace. All those fuelling Yemen's tragedy need to stop being arms brokers and start becoming peace brokers. 

The Human Rights Council decision not to set up an independent inquiry to investigate human rights violations by all sides to the conflict in Yemen is unacceptable.

This huge gap between rich and poor is bad news for economic growth, the fight against poverty, social stability and democracy.  

This is an historic moment, and a sign that world leaders are willing to put aside differences and work together towards overcoming the threat of climate change. It's now time to roll up our sleeves and focus on strengthening the Agreement and make it work for everyone.
