Bangladesh’s Monsoon: Flooding and landslides kill at least five people in Cox’s Bazar – Oxfam responds

Oxfam and partners are currently assessing the scale of Cyclone Mocha’s devastation to mount a humanitarian response to provide clean water, sanitation and hygiene facilities, as well as emergency cash and food. 

A fire that swept through Rohingya refugee camps of Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh, on Sunday has left 12000 people homeless and in urgent need of shelter, water, sanitation, and medical services. Oxfam is mounting a response to provide immediate food and shelter to impacted people.  

Days of heavy monsoon rain in south-eastern Bangladesh have caused severe flooding in and around the Cox’s Bazar refugee camps, leaving thousands in urgent need of food, water and sanitation, Oxfam warned today.
