60 Syrians, arriving in Italy today to seek asylum as part of a humanitarian visa programme, will be hosted by Oxfam in the Italian region of Tuscany.

A touring exhibition by Oxfam and Amnesty International’s Greek Section showcasing items donated by Greeks to refugees and migrants has received two Gold Ermis Awards from Greece’s most prestigious advertising and communications body.

Responding to a speech by the president of the World Bank, Oxfam's Nadia Daar said: "The Bank must guarantee that in any dealings with the private sector, reducing poverty, protecting the environment, and helping communities will take priority over financial gain.
