An Oxfam spokesperson said: “The last thing Yemen needs is further conflict. Oxfam calls on the United Kingdom, United States and all other parties to de-escalate immediately and continue to advance an inclusive political settlement in Yemen. 

Following recent airstrikes in Yemen, Muhsin Sidiqquey Oxfam's country director in Yemen said: “The increase in fighting in Yemen is having a deadly impact and once again it is civilians that are paying the price. The people of Yemen have been caught in the crossfire of this violent conflict for nearly seven years.  They can’t wait any longer for peace - the international community must urgently negotiate an immediate cessation in hostilities and a lasting end to the conflict.”

Three years of war in Yemen: over 3 million people have been forced to flee their homes, the world’s largest cholera outbreak on record, and the country is teetering on the brink of famine. The world cannot continue to turn a blind eye to Yemen’s suffering.

Oxfam welcomes the announcement by the Saudi Arabian led  Coalition that Operation Decisive Storm in Yemen has ended, but warns that the work to bring aid to millions of Yemenis is still only beginning. 

Oxfam has vehemently condemned yesterday's Coalition airstrike on one of its storage facilities in Saada Governorate in northern Yemen.
