A new report published today by Oxfam and WWF argues that a proposed deal to apply a carbon price to international shipping should be at the heart of the agreement at the UN climate change conference in Durban, South Africa, later this year.

In response to the Food and Agriculture Organization's report, "Climate Change, Water and Food Security", Oxfam's international climate adviser Tim Gore said:

Climate change is the single greatest threat to development – making the battle to overcome poverty ever harder and more expensive.
