The Swedish development agency Sida has announced their decision to go ahead with a new three year humanitarian partnership with Oxfam. The €10.2 million partnership arrangement will ensure over 280,000 people in more than five countries will receive critical humanitarian aid. 

Millions of people facing severe hunger and acute malnutrition in one of the worst hit areas of the Democratic Republic of Congo risk having life-saving aid cut if donors do not plug a hole in the aid budget, Oxfam warned today. 

International aid agency Oxfam today announced that its Humanitarian Haiti earthquake appeal was closing due to the overwhelming generosity of the public worldwide. Oxfam has received approximately $100m for its emergency work in Haiti.
