Oxfam congratulates the UN World Food Program for its Nobel Peace Prize. It is a timely and urgent recognition to the work that WFP does in fighting the scourge of global hunger.
Oxfam hopes that this award, recognising Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed’s courage and leadership, will give new impetus to peace initiatives in Ethiopia and all over the world.
The 2017 Nobel Peace Prize goes to the International Campaign for the Abolition of Nuclear Weapons (ICAN) for its outstanding contribution to efforts in reducing the threat of nuclear war.
