Oxfam has accepted Scarlett Johansson’s decision to step down after eight years as a Global Ambassador and we are grateful for her many contributions.

This week, Oxfam Ambassador Actress Scarlett Johansson visited Kenya to see the devastating impact of the drought in East Africa. More than 13 million people are at risk because of a severe drought that has hit parts of Kenya, Ethiopia and Somalia. In Somalia, the crisis has escalated to a famine.

Leading actors, musicians and statesmen including actors Gael Garcia Bernal, Scarlett Johansson, Kristin Davis, Archbishop Emeritus Tutu and former President Lula of Brazil are putting out a call to fix the broken global food system, which is failing to feed nearly a billion people each day.
