One year on from the historic United Nations summit for refugees and migrants, the international community has failed to make meaningful progress towards meeting the goals of the New York Declaration for Refugees and Migrants.

Uganda is hosting the first Refugee Solidarity Summit on 22 and 23 June. Oxfam is calling on the international community to provide funds, humanitarian aid and, crucially, to pave the way for a peaceful resolution to conflicts in neighboring countries. 

New IPC figures show that famine has been pushed back in South Sudan, but the food crisis continues to spread across the country and 6 million people are facing severe hunger and need immediate help.

One month since famine was declared in two areas of South Sudan, it is a race against the forthcoming rains to save lives Oxfam warned today.
