Yemen conflict

Conflict in Yemen has left thousands dead, millions homeless or hungry, and an economy in ruins. But hopes for peace talks are fading and a new approach is needed. Women and girls are particularly affected by the conflict and have a crucial role to play in building peace at the local level.

Oxfam and 9 other NGOs implore all parties in the conflict to abide by the terms of the ceasefire and to resume peace negotiations. 

UN report is yet more fresh evidence that countries such as the UK and US should halt reckless arms sales to all participants of Yemen’s war.

A year of devastating conflict in Yemen which has seen more than 6,100 people killed, 2.4 million people forced from their homes, and left 21.2 million in dire need of humanitarian aid and is being compounded by a looming banking crisis risks pushing millions into famine.

It is shameful that members of the Human Rights Council prioritized perceived geo-strategic interests above the need for accountability and failed today to establish an international independent mechanism to investigate breaches of these laws.
