Advancing the right of people living in poverty to sustainable livelihoods has been a cornerstone of Oxfam’s work for many decades. Oxfam has a long and well-recognized record of humanitarian relief in times of crisis. When disaster strikes, we respond - delivering high quality lifesaving assistance and essential protection to the most affected.

In rich countries, clean water is so plentiful and easily available that we simply take it for granted. Yet around the world, diseases from unsafe water kill more people each year than any other cause, making this one of the world’s most urgent health issues. Water is central to almost every aspect of Oxfam’s work.
