Oxfam reaction to new interim World Bank poverty cutting target

Publié: 9th octobre 2013

Washington, DC— In reaction to World Bank President Jim Kim's announcement  of a new interim target of cutting global poverty to 9% by 2020, Oxfam spokesperson Raymond C. Offenheiser made the following statement:

“This interim goal is a strong signal that World Bank President Kim is serious about bringing his vision of a world free of poverty to reality quickly. But ambitious targets must now be paired with ambitious actions. In order for these efforts to reach the poor in small and populous countries alike and ensure advancement towards this target across the board, the World Bank must report progress in each individual country.”
