On the European Parliament's call to ban arms sales from the European Union to countries accused of targeting civilians in Yemen, Oxfam's International Policy Advisor Arms and Conflict, Martin Butcher, said:
“We welcome the European Parliament's call for a stop to arms sales to the belligerents in Yemen's conflict. The European Parliament has recognised the civilian deaths, suffering and destruction in Yemen resulting from the ongoing war. We look forward to working with the EU and member states to uphold international humanitarian law and enforce the EU's own rules on arms exports, and preventing European arms being used in Yemen.”
