Oxfam EU: Media Advisory and Calendar

Oxfam EU’s monthly media advisory provides an update on what EU stories, moments and events Oxfam is keeping its eye on. Please get in touch for interview requests, statements, background information and embargoed copies of upcoming reports.     

Oxfam experts are also available to comment on the situation in Gaza, the EU’s budget and impact on development and humanitarian aid, the EU’s new Global Gateway initiative and the EU’s deregulation drive with respect to its impact on the EU’s rules on supply chains (CSDDD).

Date TBC – Global Aid Figures – Media Reaction: The Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) will unveil its 2024 statistics on development aid. Last year, Oxfam said that the current level of aid is a "moral failure." Oxfam will publish a media reaction and Oxfam’s aid expert, Salvatore Nocerino, is available for comment. 

Date TBC – Global Report on Food Crises – Media Reaction: The World Food Programme will publish its annual report on food crises. Oxfam will publish a media reaction and Oxfam EU food security expert, Hanna Saarinen, is available for comment. 

Date TBC – French Legal Action on Climate – Press conference & Press Release: Oxfam will launch a joint legal action with Greenpeace, Notre Affaire à Tous and climate activists against the French State for its failure to protect citizens from the impact of the climate crisis. May 

5 May (TBC) – Parliament votes on EU Budget (MFF) – Comment: The European Parliament will vote on its own initiative report on the EU’s 7-year budget (MFF). Oxfam experts are available for comment.  

Date TBC – Settlement Trade – Report: Oxfam will publish a report on settlement trade in the Occupied Palestine Territory. Please reach out for an embargoed copy.
